We offer
a traditional summer camp for boys and girls ages 5-12. Activities are varied and appropriately geared for each
age group. The daily program will include the excitement and
challenge of the
following activities:
ARTS & CRAFTS
Adventures in varied art media are offered
for individual expression and growth. A highlight of our
program is our campers viewing their creative projects
which they have entered in the Ventura County Fair. Craft
activities include: Bead key chains, weaving, lanyards,
basket & candle making, friendship bracelets, copper
rubbings, leather crafts, pipe cleaner art, and bread
dough creations.
SPORTS &
GROUP GAMES
Group participation in sports and games
promotes cooperation and good sportsmanship skills. At
the same time, campers are developing their gross motor
coordination. Ping-Pong, badminton, croquet, field
hockey, volleyball, relay races, parachute fun, darts,
hand ball, human tic-tac-toe, steal the bacon, sponge
war, water & mud play, and kick the can are a few of
our outdoor activities.
SCIENCE PROJECTS
Campers will explore the world around them
through varied hands-on projects. Imagine the amazement
of a ant, or butterfly farm at camp! We might even see a
volcano erupt right before our eyes. Watch our garden
grow into a science lab of its own.
CREATIVE
READING/JOURNALIZING
Creative reading and writing skills are
encouraged through daily journalizing and exploration of
books.
CAMP SONGS / FLUTOPHONE /
SKITS/
PUPPETS / POEMS
Summer camp experience is not complete
without favorite camp songs. We meet at the haystacks
daily to learn songs, poems, and flutophone pieces. Once
a week we act out a favorite story. Hand clapping and
jump rope rhymes are enjoyed and promote coordination
skills.
COMPUTERS
Surfing the internet will be a skill
acquired by all. Browse through the World Wide Web and
discover "The World as Our Neighbor." Lessons
will be tied into weekly themes with emphasis on
research, geography, and typing skills.
FIELD TRIPS
To enhance the camper's experience, each
session includes a weekly field trip. Our family
camp-outs are always a highlight of the summer. Special
field trips are planned for the Jr. Counselors.

Hot Lunch is available every Tuesday and
Pizza on Friday for about $4.00.
