A Note from our Directors Dear Parents, We know that selecting a school for your child is one of the most challenging decisions a parent can make. You want a school that will stimulate, nurture and guide growth of your child while instilling the same values, morals and traditional philosophy that you teach in your home. Mae Carden, who developed the curriculum, was an inspirational and motivating mentor who had a never-failing cognizance of the unlimited potential of each and every child. Our goal is to provide a school atmosphere where each child is special and expected to be the best that he can be. Every student offers a valuable contribution to our campus. We encourage students to develop their own individuality and confidence while respecting the diverse contributions of their fellow classmates. Many of our returning students and their parents have praised our teachers and the curriculum for providing them with the foundation for their success in high school and beyond. Recently one of our eighth grade students, applying to Cate School, a college preparatory high school in Carpenteria, was asked to describe a person, place or event which had significantly influenced his life. He wrote, "When I first came to this particular school, I was a curious boy, but after I came out, I felt a confident young man. I am still not ready for the real world, but Carden enabled me to go one step further in the path of life." We hope that all of our students think of Carden School as a part of their family.
